Marshals & Technical

If you’ve always wanted to be a part of the exciting Road Racing scene, but aren’t able to actually compete, you are not alone. There are many reasons for this ranging from finance to family commitments, but you can join in and be a vital part of the "A-Team" that makes it all happen.

Without marshals, technical officials, recovery crews, assembly area staff and start line officials, meetings simply can’t happen. All of these posts are vital to the efficient, safe and friendly running of our events.Crash image

To begin with, everyone starts as a trainee and is accompanied by experienced and friendly regulars. Training sessions are available, ranging from incident reporting, flag marshalling, handling damaged machines, fire fighting, dealing with injured riders and liaison with the medical staff and Race Control.

Technical Control is another part of the event that happens quietly and efficiently throughout the event. It doesn’t end once all machines have been inspected for compliance before practice or qualifying commences. There are dyno checks, post race weight controls, parc-ferme procedures, crash damage reports and re-inspections throughout the weekend.

The feeling of having been such an important part of making an event happen, is something that has to be experienced to be truly understood. Friendships that last a lifetime are made within the team, often with people that you would probably never have even met in the course of your ordinary everyday life.
